Collage
Since 2017, with the unfolding global migration crisis, the figurative subjects in my work came to be trapped within fragile boats, depicting not only fleeing migrants, but also our own existential human condition.
With COVID-19 it is clear that the refugees were just the first, most vulnerable victims of an unsustainable system that will eventually consume us all. While we are luckier than some, we are all stuck, floundering through a sinister new-normal.
