New York 1990 - 1994
I visited New York in 1990 and began painting and making lithographs at The Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop. The work developed a rough spontaneity, to catch fleeting emotions, during this period of uprootedness and transition in a charged city.
Delhi 1995 -1999
In 1994, I moved to Delhi with my new born son for four years and had four solo shows. This body of work, small watercolors and drawings, celebrate the daily life of motherhood, with its joys and unpredictability, and a return to the color and light of India. In 1999, I returned to NYC and have be based there since, while continuing to spend time, work and show in India.
